Roger Federer and Svetlana Kuznetsova are the top seeds for the Sony Ericsson Open. The 13-day tournament begins Tuesday 22nd March with unseeded women in action.
Seeded players have a first-round bye, and Federer plays his opening match Saturday night.
The draw was held Monday, and No. 2-seeded Novak Djokovic and No. 4 Rafael Nadal landed in the half opposite Federer.
Five-time champion Serena Williams will miss the tournament with a left knee injury.
Caroline Wozniacki is seeded second. Defending champion Victoria Azarenka could meet reigning U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters in the fourth round. Justine Henin, making a comeback this year, received a wild card and could face No. 5-seeded Elena Dementieva in the second round.

HOUSTON, Texas (AFP) - Defending champion Lleyton Hewittof Australia will make his return from a right hip operation in January at next month's ATP US Clay Court Championships, the ATP Tour announced Monday.

Former world number one Hewitt has accepted a wild-card entry into the April 5-11 event at River Oaks Country Club.

Hewitt suffered the injury while playing in the Hopman Cup in early January and underwent surgery in Hobart to repair a torn labrum after a fourth-round loss to Swiss star Roger Federer at the Australian Open.

Hewitt, ranked 24th by the ATP, underwent a similar operation on his left hip two years ago.

Last year, Hewitt rolled to the title without losing a set. This time, he hopes to become the first back-to-back champion since Andy Roddick in 2001 and 2002.

"When we got the call that Lleyton was progressing faster than expected on his recovery, we were very pleased to offer him a wild card," said Clay Courts director Van Barry. "We look forward to him coming back."

Hewitt is fourth among active ATP players with 27 career titles, including the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon titles.

Hi All,

News of the French Open is that it leave Roland Garros, the tournament's home for 82 years, if improvements are not made to the infrastructure, an official said Monday.

As the three other Grand Slams have built new stadiums, expanded seating and added modern amenities, the late-spring tournament in Paris has resisted such changes due to public opposition and environmental concerns. It may lead to a move to the Parisian suburbs.

"We have two options," tournament director Gilbert Ysern said. "Make it bigger or move out. It would be heartbreaking to leave Paris but we have to consider it."

Four different sites on the outskirts of Paris are being mentioned as possible relocation destinations. But that heartbreaking line suggests French Open officials have no real intention of leaving Roland Garros.
